"He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."
~ Romans 8:28 (The Message Bible)
I thank God that we get better with time. As we get older chronologically, mentally and spiritually our character and poise gets more beautiful, focused and wise. As we make our way in this life we face many different kinds of tests. These tests are designed to perfect. If we think about it, they have and they will continue to perfect us in the Lord.
What I love most about getting older is knowing the outcome of a thing because you've been there before. With being in the place of discomfort or whatsoever, wisdom is established at a deeper level. At a crossroad we don't have to wonder if we should say yes or no to a thing but because of earlier decisions we now can respond to a thing speedily and effectively. I like to call it "evolutionary wisdom".
We evolve as people. From our physical stand point to our judgemental stand point to our characteristics to our wisdom. We get better and better. I looked up the definition for the word evolution. It reads as follows "A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form." Isn't that awesome? That's encouraging to know. We get better with time like fine wine. Our mistakes, our mishaps, our struggles, our successes all teach us to be better and make us better. We have an evolutionary existence.
The bible tells us that "all things work together for the good to them that love the Lord...". If you know you're loving the Lord the next time you wonder why you're going through something, good or bad, remember that it's making you better. It's teaching you how to and how not to. It's perfecting you. Stay encouraged and let what God allows you to go through in this life revolutionize you my brothers and sisters.
Let's pray...
Lord I thank You for experiences. Thank You for circumstances. Thank You for decisions that need to be made. All of these things are teaching us how to be better and IS making us better as people, parents, siblings, spouses, christians and servants. We love You and please continue to make us better. In Jesus name. Amen.

Safely Keep Your Fragile Heart
" Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that's where life starts."
~Proverbs 4:23 (The Message Bible)
Valentine's Day was nice. A celebration of love, oooo. Since I love sweets I always enjoy candy the most. The flowers are especially nice too. I love it! Just a big ol' world wide love fest. But on a deeper not, one thing that I don't get during the V-Day hype is how some people share a "type" of love for this day. This can be very dangerous because it will leave us empty every time. Our natural desire for love is true love. The love that will stand the test of time. Not that old flaky, fickle kind of "love". When we think about love, we think about the heart. Our hearts are vessels that need to be filled with things that will nourish not destruct. It needs the original not generic kind of love. "Guard your heart for out of it flows the issues of life." Selah
This blog won't be long for this week but I want to share how important it is for us to search out or wait for true love. Even though Valentine's Day has come and gone, true love will last forever. We need it everyday of our lives. I like to say "A hug a day keeps your heart tender and gay". We should protect our heart not only from what we receive but in what we give as well. We can't give our heart to just anyone. It just may be taken for granted. We don't want that. We want our hearts to be held as if it was marked with the label "fragile" on it. Our hearts are precious gems that God has given us to feel, empathize, sympathize, care, be compassionate... So if we don't guard it how will we be equipped and ready to express or receive REAL love?
Be steadfast and protect what God has given you. God bless you all and keep TRUE LOVE alive. The best way to do so is to give it to the Lord to manage.
Let's Pray...
Dear God. Thank you for this wonderful vessel that you've given us called the heart. It allows us to feel, to have compassion, and most of all to love. We want to love the way you love. So help us to guard our heart with all diligence that no corrupt thing would infect or affect it. We thank you for wisdom. We thank you for love. Especially the greatest love of all Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In Jesus name. Amen.

Beautiful Son...
"Cast all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
~ 1 Peter 5: 7 (King James Bible)
If it were not for Jesus where would we be? Living in a world that has much to do with self gratification can get hard. It's especially hard for people that want to please the heart of God. This difficulty is because of the struggle we have in our natural selves. We are christians but we are still human. We are no different from non-christian except by what we believe. We feel the same way as non-christians feel. We bleed the same, walk the same, talk the same, etc. The same way we all get hungry, christian or not, it's the same way we all have the proclivities to sin. It's also the same we way we ALL need Jesus.
Jesus is the only way that we would be able to survive in this place we call "the world". Through all the temptation and heartache and struggle and joy, Jesus keeps us. I thank Him everyday for dieing on the cross so that we can have a life with no worry. A life that is victorious in Him. He knew that we would not be able to deal on our own down here so He made a way that would allow us to live victoriously and this could only be done through Him.
Did you know that Jesus, till this day is still serving us? Yes, He is praying for us at the right hand of the Father even now as you are reading this and I am blogging this. He was not only so humble that he died (He took the blame) for us but He is STILL serving us till this very moment. WOW!!! If this doesn't teach us humility I don't know what will. That's another word altogether. Because He knows we are weak, He has made us strong. He has strengthened us by His servanthood to us. Don't live this live defeated. Know that The King of Kings Himself has laid His life down for little old you and me. If the King got you on VIP than why not live like you're on VIP? He's got our backs. Thank you Jesus.
So no matter what you've done or what was done to you, move on and let the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) give you a new slate. He is waiting on you. "He knows. He cares. He sees. He's there. He'll carry you. He's concerned about you" (CeCe Winans).
Let's pray...
Dear Father, Thank you for Jesus. Your only begotten son. What He did on the cross will never be forgotten and we will always be grateful for it. He didn't have to do it but He did. Because He did we now can live in victory and reconciliation to you every day. Thank you for your Son. Your beautiful Son. We love you and are forever grateful. In Jesus name. Amen.

Glory Carriers!
"[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!"
~ Romans 8:18 (Amplified Bible)
Often times when we have problems we tend to be self absorbed. We think about the unpleasing situation that we facing and that is all that seems to stay on our mind. In those uncomfortable times we should stop to think about others that are around us; at work, at home, or at school and what they may be going through? Do you ever wonder what their perception is? I want to encourage you and let you know that you are not going through trials in vain. When you look at yourself and your present situation you may look negatively but other's may not. See, regardless of whether we are smoothly sailing through life or painfully wayfaring on rocky roads, when we live for God, most of the time what other's see is a beacon of light, strength and comfort.
Many of us have heard before "after every press comes glory". Well, it's the truth. Out of every heartache, heartbreak, disappointment and loss comes double for your trouble. Job in the bible is a key example of such glory. Here are a few example of how you are a glory carrier. While you are on your way to work and contemplating turning the car around cause you hate your job, your co-workers are saying how does he/she deal with such a hard boss? How can I be like him/her? Glory! Or while you're crying at night wondering how things are going to work out, your kids are thinking I want to be like mommy/daddy when I grow up. Glory! Maybe even as you are leading worship or preaching the sermon on Sunday mornings and not "feeling like it" cause of things that are going on in your life, the congregation is blessed by the anointing that is flowing out of you. GLORY! You have the glory and if you stay right where God has you, you will not only come out of your problem better but you will come out as pure gold.
We are the salt of the earth-a light in this world. God put people on this earth for each other. As a child of God people look to us for answers. Even the people that we have never said a word to. We go through trials on a different plane from those that don't know Christ. There is something special that problems and hard circumstances do to us. We have a certain posture when we are going through and God uses that to shine light for the ones that are in darkness so that they will be able to find their way out. We are that light. What would happen if we threw in the towel?
Next time you feel like you can't take another step. Think of being a chosen vessel by God. Yes, a vessel. A utensil for holding something. That something is light. We are holding the light of Jesus Christ within us. The glory of God. Be encouraged and don't let go. Someone's life depends on it. It may even be yours. Think about it. That's another word all together. At any rate, trust God to know that according to 2 Cor. 4:7 this affliction is just for a moment and works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. In due time God will deliver you. He knows what's best and He does all things well. You will come out of it stronger, wiser and better as Pastor Sapp would put it.
Let's pray...
Father we thank you for allowing us to see another day. Though some of us are at hard times in our lives right now we believe it is all for Your glory. We accept the call of being a light in this world for you. Give us the understanding to know why we need to keep going. Give us your grace Lord. Bless and strengthen us your children as we press toward the mark. In Jesus name. Amen.
