I STILL Wanna Be Right?

~ Proverbs 12 (Please see below)

Wow...I can't seem to shake last weeks word from my spirit. I shouldn't be so eager to want to anyway. I thought I would be able to move on to something else I believe the Lord wanted me to share but nope. God wants us to be right. He knows how much POWER we can know we have and how much POWER we can walk in if we do. God's word (The Bible) holds the key to what we need to live upright before Him.

Last night He shared with me from Proverbs 12. Today He wants you to know some of the things that he detests so that you will know what is right to Him. That way knowing what is right to Him will help you to do what's right. Below is the chapter of Proverbs 12. Please read and even meditate on it. I did and it gave me the desire TO BE RIGHT. How can I be right? You may ask...After repentance comes reading the word of God. Whether you've been a christian all your life or a new christian, when we live in sin we all need to start at ground zero. Then God will bring us back to our rightful place in Him. BUT, first things first.

To start off, below you will find Proverbs 12. Before reading it say a quick prayer to yourself right now. Ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness and give you enlightenment as you read His word (The Bible). Let His word speak to you.

1WHOEVER LOVES instruction and correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is like a brute beast, stupid and indiscriminating.
2A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of wicked devices He condemns.
3A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall never be moved.
4A virtuous and worthy wife [earnest and strong in character] is a crowning joy to her husband, but she who makes him ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5The thoughts and purposes of the [consistently] righteous are honest and reliable, but the counsels and designs of the wicked are treacherous.
6The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them and the innocent ones [thus endangered].
7The wicked are overthrown and are not, but the house of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall stand.
8A man shall be commended according to his Wisdom [godly Wisdom, which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God], but he who is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9Better is he who is lightly esteemed but works for his own support than he who assumes honor for himself and lacks bread.
10A [consistently] righteous man regards the life of his beast, but even the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits is lacking in sense and is without understanding.
12The wicked desire the booty of evil men, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous yields [richer fruitage].
13The wicked is [dangerously] snared by the transgression of his lips, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall come out of trouble.
14From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hands shall come back to him [as a harvest].
15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise.
16A fool's wrath is quickly and openly known, but a prudent man ignores an insult.
17He who breathes out truth shows forth righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), but a false witness utters deceit.
18There are those who speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
19Truthful lips shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is [credited] but for a moment.
20Deceit is in the hearts of those who devise evil, but for the counselors of peace there is joy.
21No [actual] evil, misfortune, or calamity shall come upon the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil, misfortune, and calamity.
22Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight.
23A prudent man is reluctant to display his knowledge, but the heart of [self-confident] fools proclaims their folly.
24The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labor.
25Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad.
26The [consistently] righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked causes others to go astray.
27The slothful man does not catch his game or roast it once he kills it, but the diligent man gets precious possessions.
28Life is in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), and in its pathway there is no death but immortality (perpetual, eternal life).

It doesn't stop here. There is plenty where this came from. It's all in your word (The Bible).

Pray with me...

Father in Jesus name, hide your word in our hearts that we might not sin against you. We want to be right. This is the cry of our hearts. Here our prayer oh Lord and attend unto our cry. Help us to make you smile on us more and more each day. Those of us that have things that have bound us free us now by the power of Your son's blood, Jesus Christ. Thank you for making us free. As we walk in this freedom build our confidence in You. In Jesus name. Amen.

I Wanna Be Right...

"And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we'll be ready for him when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives."

~ 1 John 2:28 (The King James Bible)

Being a christian is awesome. Thinking of all the benefits and security we gain when we are christian brings so much peace and comfort. When trouble comes we call on Him. When we feel low, we call on him. I couldn't imagine my life without Christ. I probably would lose my mind. Sometimes I do find it hard to resist temptations but I can honestly say, if I love God enough I won't want to indulge in sin. Though I may fall, indulging in sin will not be a part of my lifestyle. That way I give no room for guilt to set in.

"I wanna be right" is a saying among Christians in the church. It simply means that I want to live according to Gods standards. It's us living to please God. Having a life that is dedicated to being in right standing with God is where your security lies. When we're faced with trouble we can run to Him with no hesitation. It strengthens our faith and it also gives us confidence in our relationship with God. We are not saved by works. When we, individually, do our part and what is required of us, we will be guilt free. We should not allow guilt for falling into sin delay our blessings. We should know that we are secure in our relationship with Him at all times. That can happen by repentance after sinning but having a guilt free spirit will speed up your progress in Him. Living Holy not only sanctifies us but it frees our conscience to go before God boldly and ask all that we need and want without guilt, shame, or wondering if He hears us. It also frees us to recieve from the Lord.

The devil is an expert at making us feel really bad and unlovable when we have done something that is not in line with righteousness. But guess what? It's not only the devil that makes us feel like we're not wanted by God after sinning. We are hard on ourselves as well; even way after we've asked for forgiveness and turned back to God. When we repent and turn from that sin that we fell for, God hears us. The moment we say Lord, forgive me He says...DONE! The bible tells us. It says that He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, if we confess (1John 1:9). It is good to have this understanding but at the same time it is even better to have a lifestyle that is pleasing to the Lord. I can't stress enough about rightful living being the root of confidence that will allow us to recieve quickly from God. Being faithful to God pays off greatly and allows you to be a friend of God with no reserve.

I love the story about King Hezekiah. I won't go into it a whole lot but if you read about King Hezekiah's life (Isaiah 38:2-8), he needed a deliverance so he reminded God of his faithfulness to Him in "living right" and God granted his request. Can you imagine what kind of mental readjusting he would have had to do just to believe he got a prayer through to God if he wasn't in right standing with Him? Understand, what helps us in our faith is "living right". This allows our conscience to be clear to fully accept blessings and answered prayers from the Lord because from doing so we have given the devil and ourselves nothing to work with.

Yes, it's inevitable. We will fall sometimes but let's not let that fall turn into an avalanche. If we do we will feel like there is no hope and our faith will dwindle. Be holy for He is holy. You can do it! We can do it! It may get hard sometimes but it's doable. If it weren't Jesus wouldn't have told us we could do it.

Let's pray...

Lord in Jesus name, Thank you for your son Jesus that took away our sins with His pure blood. We acknowledge this but we need to be in good standing with you so that we can feel secure. Our confidence in our relationship with you is so important. We don't want to feel out of the loop with you. Please strengthen us and make us whole, those of us that have been broken by giving in to sin. We thank you. In Jesus name...Amen.

Take Ownership...

"I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples."

~ John 15:5-8 (The Message Bible)
*if you can please read all of chapter 15*

Has the Lord ever told you something and you knew for sure that it was Him talking to you but then here comes some foreign voice telling you otherwise? If your answer is yes, take no shame. It's happened to the best of us. One thing I've realized as I am growing in Christ is that I have to take OWNERSHIP of my relationship with the Lord. I have done so and it has liberated me to the point where I am able to move when He says move and stay when He says stay. I'm not saying I don't make mistakes but I now take ownership. I acknowledge that if I mess up, it's not because of God or the influence of others but because I have disobeyed God completely or have moved without hearing from Him. I'm not saying for you not to take advice or take heed to what your family, friends or pastor(s) have to say but honestly when it comes down to it, it's all about your relationship with God and what He says. As much as we love our families, friends and pastor(s) and as much advice, encouragement and opinion they give us, their words are not the end-it-all. We have to take heed to what God says to us individually.

How do I know when it's God? Well that is what a relationship with Him is for so you don't have to wonder. I agree it does take time to learn how to distinguish His voice but be honest, don't all relationships take time? He wants you to learn His voice and hear what He is saying to you. I believe everyone hears the voice of God. It's just that we hear so many voices (influence, reason, doubt...) that we don't know which voice is His. There is no secret to how to learn which is God's voice. You learn His voice by the desire of wanting to hear Him. Desire will lead you to the place you need to be in order to hear Him. That place is on your knees, in worship, in prayer, in reading the bible. By being in this place with loyalty, reverence and faithfulness you will find that you won't need to be literally on your knees to hear from Him. You will know His voice so well that you could be in a middle of a noisy crowd and still hear Him. Even in middle of chaos (life's chaos) and still hear Him. That is so awesome. Doesn't that sound awesome? Not having to doubt because of the confidence you have in really knowing God's voice? You won't have to be confused anymore over whether it's the Lord speaking to you or so and so.

As human beings we don't like rejection. Often times we don't want to let our true feelings for another person out because we are afraid of not being wanted. In this case, don't worry because with Jesus there is no rejection. He has initiated this relationship and He is more ready and willing than you think. I urge you brothers and sisters to take time out and retaliate on this relationship with the Lord and when you do take OWNERSHIP. Don't you want to know Him, His voice, His ways and KNOW it's Him? I know I do...

Now, if you haven't done so already, take OWNERSHIP. Don't let others interfere with what you have with God. He's the only one that knows you better than you know yourself so why not get close to Him and know His voice?

Let's pray...

Father, we stretch our hands toward thee for it's no other help we know. Please help us to know your voice. Whether it's in a still small one or as loud as thunder. Work in us, through us, and in our in betweens. We love you and have faith that you have heard our prayers now help us to have faith to hear your answers. In Jesus name .... Amen.

I Have To Be Faithful

"His master said to him, Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy (the delight, the blessedness) which your master enjoys."

~Matthew 25:23 (The Amplified Version)

Last week I said a lot about time and how pursuing your aspirations is still possible. This is true but something else that is true is that it's going to take faith and faithfulness to reach that mark that you have set for yourself. You see, most people give up on what we call our "New Year's Resolution" or "New Commitment" within the first three months of the year. Well, we don't want to be like most people this year. We want to be exceptional. Not mediocre. FAITHFULNESS is the key. It separates us from mediocrity. It makes us the persistent ones. The ones that won't give up and we all know when one doesn't give up it's inevitable that one will succeed every time. It's true, we do have to push ourselves because of discouragement, fatigue, fear, distractions and so on. But we can't let yourself get off track. If you stay faithful not only to what you are accomplishing but to God, you will reach your goal.

In 2010 there is no time for discouragement (because you are not seeing immediate results) or distractions. We can't let those things dominate or navigate our decision to go for it or not. If we allow such things to take away our focus we will end up in a place that we don't want. Think of the OUTCOME. Push those things aside. Sometimes rhey come through outside influence or even ourselves. Our mission should be to chase those thoughts of discouragement and fear away and continue to do everything it is we need to do to reach our goals.

The best way to chase these thoughts away is to be FAITHFUL. Do it anyway!!! Don't feel like it? Do it anyway! Tired? Do it anyway! Kids got your head all over the place? When you're done putting them to bed, do it anyway! Even if it's a little bit. Put effort toward your goal. Whether it's a little effort or a lot. This is what's called FAITHFULNESS. Though we may feel fickle toward our goals sometimes it is important that we put our fickleness aside because it is misleading, kind of like our emotions. We need to push toward what we know is true and profitable both humanistically and possibly financially; our goal.

Just a sidebar:
Take the story of the investments for example in Matthew 25:14-28. The one servant that was fearful of disappointment and shame hid the one talent that the master had given him. After some time when the master asks him what has the talent profited him, he told the master it profited him nothing because he was too fearful. The master was furious and told him about the least he could have done with the talent. Don't let that be you. God doesn't want you to play it safe. God has given you something, invest it. Even if it's just a little. God will multiply it.

Don't let your vision die. Don't give up on what you started. You started it for a reason. That reason was the OUTCOME of your necessary FAITH and FAITHFULNESS. You probably didn't realized how much commitment or faithfulness it would require in the beginning of your journey but if you can only keep the OUTCOME, the reason why you started it all, in the forefront of your sight you will find what you need to be FAITHFUL. Then the OUTCOME that you saw from the beginning WILL be manifested.

Pray with me...

Lord, help us to be committed to what we started this year. Give us the grace we need to follow through even when we don't feel like it. When we physically get to the outcome that we had aspired, we will look back and thank you for the grace that you provided for us in the times that we thought we wanted to give up. Thank you in advance and be glorified in our life now and forever. In Jesus name...Amen.
