Our weapons are not carnal but MIGHTY...

"Afflicted city, storm-battered, unpitied: I'm about to rebuild you with stones of turquoise, Lay your foundations with sapphires, construct your towers with rubies, your gates with jewels, and all your walls with precious stones. All your children will have God for their teacher—what a mentor for your children! You'll be built solid, grounded in righteousness, far from any trouble—nothing to fear! far from terror—it won't even come close! If anyone attacks you, don't for a moment suppose that I sent them, And if any should attack, nothing will come of it. I create the blacksmith who fires up his forge and makes a weapon designed to kill. I also create the destroyer— but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged. Any accuser who takes you to court will be dismissed as a liar. This is what God's servants can expect. I'll see to it that everything works out for the best." God's Decree!"

~ Isaiah 54:11-17

Have you ever wondered why negative things happen out of the blue right when things seem to be going right? Even while being in a good place in your life you find all kinds of people and things that try to block the clear path that you once had in sight. Well, here's a message to encourage you. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. They are MIGHTY through GOD. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU ARE NOR ME WILL PROSPER... Thank you Jesus!

That gives me so much comfort to know that I am protected and secure in God. When we stay in the shadow of His wings we have nothing to fear. Fear has no room in our lives, nor does defeat. Praise the LORD!!!

He is Lord of ALL. In Isaiah it talks about how God created the creator of the weapon therefore He is the ultimate POWER and when we have HIM we have power.

So! Don't get all crazy in the head because you may have had a bad day. Or maybe emotionally you feel down. Know that the God you serve has the ultimate POWER and say so in your life. No one, ABSOLUTELY no one or nothing has the authority over what happens in your life.

Be glad and rejoice because your time has come to soar into your destiny. HALLELUJAH!!! Through the POWER of Christ we can do all things if we believe. Do you recieve it!? I do!

Let's seal this with a prayer...

Father in the name of Jesus. Thank you that we don't have to fight these battles because our battles belong to You and you fight them for us. All we have to do is stand still and know that You are God. Thank you for this assurance. Now, for all of us that are feeling down, lift us up with your loving hands and let not our enemies triumph over us and as you promised, prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies, both carnal and spiritual. We declare it to be so in Jesus name. Amen.

Ask and It Shall Be Given...

"Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."
(King James Bible)

"This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is in keeping with the things I've revealed to you. Ask in my name, according to my will, and he'll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!"
(The Message Bible)

~ John 16:24

I used to think the piece of scripture about asking God what you want and it be given unto you was to be reckoned with. I mean I have always revered the word of God but this particular verse I didn't completely have faith in it. Well I must tell you, I was doing myself a disservice. Gods word is true.

God is so ready to give us the desires of our hearts but the key is to delight ourselves in Him. Put Him first in life and all that you desire will surely come to pass. The thing about putting God first in your life allows Him to trust you with what He wants to bless you with. He is faithful. He is NOT like man that He should lie. Our thoughts and desire come into alignment with what He wants for us and them He is more than happy to bless us accordingly.

Yep!! It's that simple. I don't have all that I would like in life YET and that is because of my faith and disobedience. But as I continue to put the Lord first and acknowledge Him in everything, I will reap every vision, dream and aspiration in my life.

I encourage you today. Put Him first. It doesn't get any simpler than that. I mean, what a deal huh!? I'll take it. You should too...

~ Royalbutterfli

Let's pray...

Lord, thank you for Your faithfulness and commitment to us. We pray for lots of things but first and foremost we pray to be pleasing to You and put You first. In doing this please find it to be Your great pleasure to grant us our hearts deepest desires. We believe and we receive in Jesus Holy name. Amen!

To Know His Ways Gives Me Hope.

"Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness."

~ Psalms 143:10 (King James Bible)

Show me your ways that I may walk with you
Show me your ways I put my hope in you
The cry of my heart is to love you more
To live with the touch of your hand
Stronger each day, show me your ways

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDKappAASZM

~ Darlene Zschech

And when we've learned and continue to learn His ways we will never be the same again. New life will begin. New perspective will arise. New ambition will come into character. New passion will bring forth materialization of vision... As we get stronger each day we will never be the same again...

~ Royalbutterfli

I will never be the same again
I could never return, I've closed the door
I will walk the path, I'll run the race
And I will never be the same again

There are higher heights, there are deeper seas
Whatever you need to do, Lord do it in me
The glory of God fills my life
And I will never be the same again

Pour like fire, soak like rain
Flow like mighty waters again and again
Sweep away the darkness, blow away the chaff
And let a flame burn to glorify your name.

I will never be the same again
I could never return, I've closed the door
I will walk the path , I'll run the race
And I will never be the same again
And I will never be the same again
And I will never be the same again...br />
Father, thank you for life and the many aspects of it. Among many aspects thank you for the joys that give us strength and makes us full, the sadness that builds character, the fear that challenges us to grow, the courage that allows us to move forward and the people that make every aspect all the more interesting... We love you and ask for your power to get through each and every situation, good and bad. Show us the way you handle things that we may follow your ways and never be the same again. We pray in agreement in Jesus name... Amen.

Get past it.

"I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back. So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it."

~ Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message Bible)

Hi everybody! I know it's been a while. If you're out there reading this blog I apologize for my unfaithfulness. Sometimes I get caught up in life's unexpected circumstances. Nonetheless, thank God that I am still here. I hope you still are too.

Question! Ever felt like giving up? Wanting to throw in the towel? Does it sometimes seem like one problem comes after the other? Kind of like once you think you see the break of day something else comes crashing down on you. If you have, know that you are not alone. I've been there. Not too long ago either. As passengers on this earth not we should not back away from the road blocks on this journey. We have to get past issues and leave them behind as we press toward our promised destination. In order to reach that destination we have to DEAL with the issue(s) at hand and GET PAST IT.

Giving up seems so easy to do most of the time. But if we really think about it, is giving up really the easy way out or just a pacifier to the issue? For example, I have, many times, given up on things, situations and people in my life. I thought that giving up would erase my issue so that I would be able to move on without facing the problem. Not so. After making that decision I came to the realization that letting go is not only a pacifier but can ultimately make me miss out on my purpose. Though this is true, I thank God that He works all things out for our good. We will always cause us to come full circle with the issue, just so that we can overcome and His will can be accomplished. In my life I have always needed to confront whatever issue I excused in the past. By walking away from it it only only delayed my progress. Now I know better. Life has a funny way of making you know better in the long run.

Today I encourage anyone that is reading this blog to face your fears, foes and road blocks. Don't let them have control of the progress in your life.Take full control as you allow the Lord to lead you and empower you to overcome. It won't be easy but what success is? In order to succeed and get past whatever your issue is is to figure out a way through Gods grace and wisdom to get past it so that it can be behind you. Handle it don't let it handle you. Inn Gods word He lets us know that He teaches our hands to war and our fingers to fight in Psalms 144 verse 1. Though the issue may seem great, the God we love is greater and He's in us therefore we can do all things through Him that gives us the strength. Don't forfeit a lifetime filled with great promise because of a temporary problem. The sooner you defeat the problem the sooner you will walk into your promise.

I hope this word has brought a new light to your circumstance and your understanding.

Let's pray...

Father God, in Jesus name, I thank you for this beautiful day you have granted us. Although the sun is shining in some places and not in others we agree that you have made this day and we will rejoice in it and be glad. We ask that you help us, in spite of what our problems are, and give us the wisdom to deal with our issues with wisdom. We want to get past them so that we can obtain all that our future holds for us. We don't want to go around in circles but we want to continue in the straight and narrow as you have given us plenty of room for our steps under us that our feet will not slip. We thank you in advance for your supernatural help and wisdom. In Jesus name. Amen...

To Be or Not To Be???

"Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day. Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful! God, I'll never comprehend them! I couldn't even begin to count them—any more than I could count the sand of the sea."

~ Psalms 139:13-18 (The Message Bible)

I choose to BE. After all, I am who God says I am. Have you ever been at a cross road where you just didn't know if you should throw in the towel or if you should keep pressing on? I'm sure you probably have and if you haven't please brace yourself because such a season is inevitable. After all, there is a season for everything. So, whether you're in that struggle right now, have been there, or will pass through there one day (and I say through because I believe you will choose to press your way through in that season), as I have chosen and most importantly as Jesus has chosen; PLEASE choose to BE!

Be who God called you to be. Don't settle for less. Don't try to be something you're not. Stay focused on the prize. Yes, it's hard. It's down right difficult sometimes but do what you have to to keep your sense of who God says you are. Don't fall into what others perceive you to be or want you to be. NEVER bow down to what others think of you. Examine what they think and see if there is any truth in it, especially when it's negative, but NEVER, I repeat NEVER, bow or internalize false perceptions of who you are.

Internalize truth. Among other things that the Lord has spoken into your spirit privately, God says that you are the head and not the tail. Above and not beneath. You are the lender and not the borrower. He has not given you a spirit of fear but of LOVE, POWER and a SOUND MIND.

I say all that to say this. I know it can get hard but don't give up on who you truly are. It may not look like it to others but you know what goes on in your spirit. God put it there. You are full of potential. The enemy (spiritual, external and internal) has power but not enough power to hold you nor me down and out. Greater is God that is in you and I than the whole world against you and I.

BE ENCOURAGED and NEVER GIVE UP ON YOU and CHOOSE TO BE!!!

Let's pray...

Lord thank you for allowing us to know who we are and not letting our external or internal enemy hinder our perception of ourselves. We are who You say we are. Though it may not seem like it in the natural at this present time we know with faith that it will come into physical manifestation in due time. Until then we will walk, talk and carry ourselves according to what you have breathed into our spirit since the beginning of time. In Jesus matchless name... Amen.

A Stronger Me!

"For you made us only a little lower than God, and you crowned us with glory and honor. You put us in charge of everything you made, giving us authority over all things."

~ Psalms 8:5,6 (King James Bible)

I really don't like speaking in public. I never have. I don't like it because of the way it makes me feel inside, especially before going up to speak. Usually I start thinking about how I may not make sense or lose my train of thought. Basically I begin to feel insecure. Feeling this way is never pleasant so as for speaking in public, I usually avoid such a task; which is not good. Not facing my insecurity can hold me back from reaching my full potential in Christ. Because I want to be all that God wants me to be, I have come to the conclusion that I have to strengthen the areas in my life that I feel insecure in. I have to evaluate myself then face the task head on, multiple times if I have to. Eventually I will become more confident and less insecure.

Being insecure is defined as not being firm or firmly fixed; likely to fail or give way; lacking in security or safety; or lacking self-confidence or assurance. Timidity, feeling inadequate, or out of the loop has been around for centuries. If you are fed of these feelings of inadequacies there is a way to get rid of them. Depending on your insecurity, you can move toward getting stronger in the particular area that you feel insecure in.

Ever heard the saying "The more you know, the further you'll go"? Well with insecurities it's sought of the same concept. To move toward getting stronger, search yourself, find your area of weakness, educate yourself on that area, then don't come into agreement with the weak area, come against it with what you learned. Don't own it, reject it. Finally but definitely not least, remember who God says your are by reading the word of God. Genesis 1: 26,27 talks about how God made us in His image. There it is! Do you have any idea what that means!? It means that you have power!!! When God speaks it's a done deal. How awesome is that!? The bible always says God grace is sufficient for us (2 Corinthians 12:9). Grace is power to do. Clearly He wants us to be secure in who we are. If you know who you are in God, you have the power to take control. By taking initiative and manipulating the insecurity rather than it manipulating you, you will become strong. You will face your fears head on. When it's all said and done you will find yourself confident in the area you were weak in.

Be encouraged. Know that you were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139). Insecure or not remember that God loves you. He made you and He wants you to know that every test in your life is to make a better you. Then your experience and how you got through your weakness can help someone else.

Stay blessed!

Let's pray...

Dear Lord many of us face insecurities that try to put us in a place of fear, "less than" and uncertainty. We thank you that you have given us the wisdom to come against these insecurities. Show us how so that we will be better people. So that we can show the ones that are coming after us "how to" when they are facing a similar feeling of inadequacy. We thank you and have ultimate confidence in you. In Jesus name. Amen.

My Body...

“Do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body.”

~ 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 ( King James Bible)

Do you love the body God has entrusted to you? Is it in the best possible state at this point in your life? Does your body honor God? Taking care of our bodies is what I would like to blog on for this week. Mortality can a beautiful thing but only if we are good stewards over what God has given us in terms of our bodies and the way we treat them. I know we've heard it all before, eat right and exercise. But honestly, when it comes down to it that is what we must do to be healthy. Some of us have always abused our bodies as far as health is concerned. A lot of what we put into our bodies since we were kids have taken toll on us as individuals over time and into our adulthood. But you know what? A lot of the habits we have is really not our fault. We were and are continually conditioned to have these habits. As christians or future christians (depending on who's reading this blog) we have to take initiative and begin or continue to take good care of our physical bodies before it's too late.

I grew up being overweight and it was not because I wanted to be, it was because of all the bad eating habits I had adapted from when I was a kid and on. As an older adolescent through my adulthood, up to this point, I decided to make healthier decisions on what I put in my body. At first I did it for me but as I grew in knowing the Lord more I started to do it for Him (Col. 3:23). I found motivation in my relationship with Christ to be at a healthy weight for my body type. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I would call this being a good steward over what God has given me, which was a healthy body to begin with.

Hold on a minute. I don't want to seem so tunnel visioned. I understand that some people were born with sicknesses and disabilities. God has a purpose for those of you that are living with a sickness or disablement. I pray Jesus' healing virtue over you but please understand that you are accountable to this stewardship as well. What ever we do or have we have to do it or take care of it to the best of our ability. Stewardship is all about the best that you can do with what you have.

I said all of that to say this. I encourage all of you who are reading this blog to make the right choices. Eat right, exercise and drink water. Eating right doesn't mean giving up our favorite foods totally, exercising doesn't mean doing the most vigorous movement over and over again until you feel like you're going to pass out and drinking water get better and likable as you continue to do it. Let's get all of the negative things we think about being a healthy out of our mind. Getting in the habit of applying good repetition to your way of life will recondition you to have good habits as appose to bad ones.

So think about it. Whether you were born with an ailment or disability or without we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are not our own. God is holding us accountable for what He has given us. individually.

I am definitely on board with this. How about you? I encourage you. Go ahead. Be a good steward and watch what you reap from it all. Someone once said, "if you slip up or if anything, pledge to keep on trying". I've slipped up many times but I kept trying. Trust me it works. Most of all God sees your efforts and achievements.

~ Royalbutterfli

Let's pray...

Father thank you for the bodies you have given us to be stewards over. We acknowledge our bad habits and want to make things right. Help us to be disciplined, motivated and wise with our bodies. We trust that you will help us as we help ourselves. In Jesus name. Amen.

No word like the Word...

~Psalms 18 (The Message Bible)

There's "No word like the Word"... In those times when we feel frustrated, afraid or unsure, we should turn to the word of God; the road map for this journey we call life. We will run into alot of bumpy roads but we will arrive eventually. Just one thing though, we have to read the map. If we think we have a shortcut and can get the...re without the map, we better think again. The Word is the shortcut. It covers ALL ground.

1-2 I love you, God— you make me strong. God is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight. My God—the high crag where I run for dear life, hiding behind the boulders, safe in the granite hideout. 3 I sing to God, the Praise-Lofty, and find myself safe and saved. 4 -5 The hangman's noose was tight at my throat; devil waters rushed over me. Hell's ropes cinched me tight; death traps barred every exit. 6 A hostile world! I call to God, I cry to God to help me. From his palace he hears my call; my cry brings me right into his presence—a private audience!
7 -15 Earth wobbles and lurches; huge mountains shake like leaves, Quake like aspen leaves because of his rage. His nostrils flare, bellowing smoke; his mouth spits fire. Tongues of fire dart in and out; he lowers the sky. He steps down; under his feet an abyss opens up. He's riding a winged creature, swift on wind-wings. Now he's wrapped himself in a trench coat of black-cloud darkness. But his cloud-brightness bursts through, spraying hailstones and fireballs. Then God thundered out of heaven; the High God gave a great shout, spraying hailstones and fireballs. God shoots his arrows—pandemonium! He hurls his lightnings—a rout! The secret sources of ocean are exposed, the hidden depths of earth lie uncovered. The moment you roar in protest, let loose your hurricane anger. 16 -19 But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!
20 -24 God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start. Now I'm alert to God's ways; I don't take God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works; I try not to miss a trick. I feel put back together, and I'm watching my step. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes. 25 -27 The good people taste your goodness, The whole people taste your health, The true people taste your truth, The bad ones can't figure you out. You take the side of the down-and-out, But the stuck-up you take down a peg. 28 -29 Suddenly, God, you floodlight my life; I'm blazing with glory, God's glory! I smash the bands of marauders, I vault the highest fences. 30 What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him Makes it.
31 -42 Is there any god like God? Are we not at bedrock? Is not this the God who armed me, then aimed me in the right direction? Now I run like a deer; I'm king of the mountain. He shows me how to fight; I can bend a bronze bow! You protect me with salvation-armor; you hold me up with a firm hand, caress me with your gentle ways. You cleared the ground under me so my footing was firm. When I chased my enemies I caught them; I didn't let go till they were dead men. I nailed them; they were down for good; then I walked all over them. You armed me well for this fight, you smashed the upstarts. You made my enemies turn tail, and I wiped out the haters. They cried "uncle" but Uncle didn't come; They yelled for God and got no for an answer. I ground them to dust; they gusted in the wind I threw them out, like garbage in the gutter. 43 -45 You rescued me from a squabbling people; you made me a leader of nations. People I'd never heard of served me; the moment they got wind of me they listened. The foreign devils gave up; they came on their bellies, crawling from their hideouts.
46 -48 Live, God! Blessings from my Rock, my free and freeing God, towering! This God set things right for me and shut up the people who talked back. He rescued me from enemy anger, he pulled me from the grip of upstarts, He saved me from the bullies. 49 -50 That's why I'm thanking you, God, all over the world. That's why I'm singing songs that rhyme your name. God's king takes the trophy; God's chosen is beloved. I mean David and all his children-- always.
~ The word of God
Pray with me...
Lord, hide Your word in our hearts that we may not sin against You. You keep Your word and since we have read and meditated on Your word, keep us. Keep us safe from all danger and harm. Protect us from the arrows that fly by day and the pestilence that stalks at night. We put our hope and trust in You forever. Thank You for divine protection over ourselves and our loved ones. In Jesus name. Amen.

Trust During Unfortunate Events In Life

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence."

~ Jeremiah 17:7 (King James Bible)

I want to know why! I need to know why! Why can't I know why!? Lord please tell me why! Have you ever felt that way? Needing, wanting, desperate for answers? I know I have. For many of us there have been times where we exhausted ourselves trying to find out answers but never finding not even an inkling as to what happened and why it happened. Though it's very natural to be curious about the peculiar events we go through in life, we often waste precious time trying to figure it all out. When we can't figure it out, that is when it is high time to put our trust in God.

God wants us to trust Him. In every circumstance He wants us to lean on His everlasting arm. He knows what's best. Trust and obey, there is no other way. To be happy in Jesus is to trust and obey. We sing it all the time. In the bible we read "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding..." So why do we try to figure out things that are out of our control? It happened already. It cannot be changed. So why not just believe that He knows what's best for you? We should completely put our confidence in the Lord and let Him execute His perfect will in our lives.

If some unfortunate event has taken place in your life in the past or recently, be encouraged that God is in FULL control. If you put ALL of your trust in Him, He will never let you down. You are not alone on this journey we call life and there is nothing new under the sun. Your situation is no surprise to God. Be still, trust and obey.

Let's pray...

Lord thank You for Your powerful hand and wisdom that conducts our every day lives. If it were not for You we would be tossed to and fro by the storms of life. Please hold us safely in the palm of Your hands that we will not be harmed. Thank You for all that has taken place in our lives thus far, for they are what will and has made us stronger. Empower us and help us to continue to trust in You with every increment of our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.

Seasons Do Change

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..."

~ Ecclesiastes 3:1 (King James Bible)

It's 57 degrees fahrenheit in New York today and it feels wonderful. This entire week we are going to have weather like this. The sun is out. It's not too cold. Today, especially, reminds me of spring time. The feeling of winter being almost gone gives such a warm feeling inside. In times like these thoughts of flowers and nice long walks in the park begin to form in our minds. Winter can be harsh and some nights can seem long and cold; nevertheless, after winter must come spring.

Just a small thought this week. If you're in the dead of winter in your life rest assured that spring is right around the corner. You may not know when or how but look for the signs of a brighter day. God is able. He's in control of it all. Your winter is making and has made preparation for your spring. It is in your spring when you shall see the fruit of your endurance of hardships. Your beautiful flowers shall spring forth. The Son/sun will shine like never before upon you. Showers of blessings will be poured out upon you. You trees will bear fruit and the Holy Spirit will breathe a fresh wind upon you like never before. Hmmm... Can you smell spring in the air? I can.

Be encouraged and walk into your season. God bless you.

Let's pray...

Dear God,
Thank you for the change of season's. Because the season's change we have assurance that trouble won't last always. In this time of transition from winter to spring help us to prepare for what you have in store for each of us. We want to receive our harvest with no restraint. Thank you in advance. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Pure Word of God

Psalms 91 (The Message Bible)
***See below***

The word of God is always more than enough when we need advice, solutions and healing. This week that is what will be our focus. The Word! Sometimes we water down the word but the word in it's purest form is most powerful. Please read with openness of heart and conviction.

1 -13You who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow, Say this: "God, you're my refuge. I trust in you and I'm safe!" That's right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you—under them you're perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm. Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon. Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you. You'll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses. Yes, because God's your refuge, the High God your very own home, Evil can't get close to you, harm can't get through the door. He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they'll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. You'll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path. 14 -16 "If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God, "I'll get you out of any trouble. I'll give you the best of care if you'll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times; I'll rescue you, then throw you a party. I'll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!"

~ Psalms 121 (The Message Bible)

1 -2 I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains. 3 -4 He won't let you stumble, your Guardian God won't fall asleep. Not on your life! Israel's Guardian will never doze or sleep. 5 -6 God's your Guardian, right at your side to protect you—Shielding you from sunstroke, sheltering you from moonstroke. 7 -8 God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always.

~ Proverbs 2 (King James Bible)

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
9Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
10When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
12To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
13Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
15Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
16To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
19None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
20That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Our Evolutionary Existence

"He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."

~ Romans 8:28 (The Message Bible)

I thank God that we get better with time. As we get older chronologically, mentally and spiritually our character and poise gets more beautiful, focused and wise. As we make our way in this life we face many different kinds of tests. These tests are designed to perfect. If we think about it, they have and they will continue to perfect us in the Lord.

What I love most about getting older is knowing the outcome of a thing because you've been there before. With being in the place of discomfort or whatsoever, wisdom is established at a deeper level. At a crossroad we don't have to wonder if we should say yes or no to a thing but because of earlier decisions we now can respond to a thing speedily and effectively. I like to call it "evolutionary wisdom".

We evolve as people. From our physical stand point to our judgemental stand point to our characteristics to our wisdom. We get better and better. I looked up the definition for the word evolution. It reads as follows "A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form." Isn't that awesome? That's encouraging to know. We get better with time like fine wine. Our mistakes, our mishaps, our struggles, our successes all teach us to be better and make us better. We have an evolutionary existence.

The bible tells us that "all things work together for the good to them that love the Lord...". If you know you're loving the Lord the next time you wonder why you're going through something, good or bad, remember that it's making you better. It's teaching you how to and how not to. It's perfecting you. Stay encouraged and let what God allows you to go through in this life revolutionize you my brothers and sisters.

Let's pray...

Lord I thank You for experiences. Thank You for circumstances. Thank You for decisions that need to be made. All of these things are teaching us how to be better and IS making us better as people, parents, siblings, spouses, christians and servants. We love You and please continue to make us better. In Jesus name. Amen.

Safely Keep Your Fragile Heart

" Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that's where life starts."

~Proverbs 4:23 (The Message Bible)

Valentine's Day was nice. A celebration of love, oooo. Since I love sweets I always enjoy candy the most. The flowers are especially nice too. I love it! Just a big ol' world wide love fest. But on a deeper not, one thing that I don't get during the V-Day hype is how some people share a "type" of love for this day. This can be very dangerous because it will leave us empty every time. Our natural desire for love is true love. The love that will stand the test of time. Not that old flaky, fickle kind of "love". When we think about love, we think about the heart. Our hearts are vessels that need to be filled with things that will nourish not destruct. It needs the original not generic kind of love. "Guard your heart for out of it flows the issues of life." Selah

This blog won't be long for this week but I want to share how important it is for us to search out or wait for true love. Even though Valentine's Day has come and gone, true love will last forever. We need it everyday of our lives. I like to say "A hug a day keeps your heart tender and gay". We should protect our heart not only from what we receive but in what we give as well. We can't give our heart to just anyone. It just may be taken for granted. We don't want that. We want our hearts to be held as if it was marked with the label "fragile" on it. Our hearts are precious gems that God has given us to feel, empathize, sympathize, care, be compassionate... So if we don't guard it how will we be equipped and ready to express or receive REAL love?

Be steadfast and protect what God has given you. God bless you all and keep TRUE LOVE alive. The best way to do so is to give it to the Lord to manage.

Let's Pray...

Dear God. Thank you for this wonderful vessel that you've given us called the heart. It allows us to feel, to have compassion, and most of all to love. We want to love the way you love. So help us to guard our heart with all diligence that no corrupt thing would infect or affect it. We thank you for wisdom. We thank you for love. Especially the greatest love of all Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In Jesus name. Amen.

Beautiful Son...

"Cast all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

~ 1 Peter 5: 7 (King James Bible)

If it were not for Jesus where would we be? Living in a world that has much to do with self gratification can get hard. It's especially hard for people that want to please the heart of God. This difficulty is because of the struggle we have in our natural selves. We are christians but we are still human. We are no different from non-christian except by what we believe. We feel the same way as non-christians feel. We bleed the same, walk the same, talk the same, etc. The same way we all get hungry, christian or not, it's the same way we all have the proclivities to sin. It's also the same we way we ALL need Jesus.

Jesus is the only way that we would be able to survive in this place we call "the world". Through all the temptation and heartache and struggle and joy, Jesus keeps us. I thank Him everyday for dieing on the cross so that we can have a life with no worry. A life that is victorious in Him. He knew that we would not be able to deal on our own down here so He made a way that would allow us to live victoriously and this could only be done through Him.

Did you know that Jesus, till this day is still serving us? Yes, He is praying for us at the right hand of the Father even now as you are reading this and I am blogging this. He was not only so humble that he died (He took the blame) for us but He is STILL serving us till this very moment. WOW!!! If this doesn't teach us humility I don't know what will. That's another word altogether. Because He knows we are weak, He has made us strong. He has strengthened us by His servanthood to us. Don't live this live defeated. Know that The King of Kings Himself has laid His life down for little old you and me. If the King got you on VIP than why not live like you're on VIP? He's got our backs. Thank you Jesus.

So no matter what you've done or what was done to you, move on and let the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) give you a new slate. He is waiting on you. "He knows. He cares. He sees. He's there. He'll carry you. He's concerned about you" (CeCe Winans).

Let's pray...

Dear Father, Thank you for Jesus. Your only begotten son. What He did on the cross will never be forgotten and we will always be grateful for it. He didn't have to do it but He did. Because He did we now can live in victory and reconciliation to you every day. Thank you for your Son. Your beautiful Son. We love you and are forever grateful. In Jesus name. Amen.

Glory Carriers!

"[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!"

~ Romans 8:18 (Amplified Bible)

Often times when we have problems we tend to be self absorbed. We think about the unpleasing situation that we facing and that is all that seems to stay on our mind. In those uncomfortable times we should stop to think about others that are around us; at work, at home, or at school and what they may be going through? Do you ever wonder what their perception is? I want to encourage you and let you know that you are not going through trials in vain. When you look at yourself and your present situation you may look negatively but other's may not. See, regardless of whether we are smoothly sailing through life or painfully wayfaring on rocky roads, when we live for God, most of the time what other's see is a beacon of light, strength and comfort.

Many of us have heard before "after every press comes glory". Well, it's the truth. Out of every heartache, heartbreak, disappointment and loss comes double for your trouble. Job in the bible is a key example of such glory. Here are a few example of how you are a glory carrier. While you are on your way to work and contemplating turning the car around cause you hate your job, your co-workers are saying how does he/she deal with such a hard boss? How can I be like him/her? Glory! Or while you're crying at night wondering how things are going to work out, your kids are thinking I want to be like mommy/daddy when I grow up. Glory! Maybe even as you are leading worship or preaching the sermon on Sunday mornings and not "feeling like it" cause of things that are going on in your life, the congregation is blessed by the anointing that is flowing out of you. GLORY! You have the glory and if you stay right where God has you, you will not only come out of your problem better but you will come out as pure gold.

We are the salt of the earth-a light in this world. God put people on this earth for each other. As a child of God people look to us for answers. Even the people that we have never said a word to. We go through trials on a different plane from those that don't know Christ. There is something special that problems and hard circumstances do to us. We have a certain posture when we are going through and God uses that to shine light for the ones that are in darkness so that they will be able to find their way out. We are that light. What would happen if we threw in the towel?

Next time you feel like you can't take another step. Think of being a chosen vessel by God. Yes, a vessel. A utensil for holding something. That something is light. We are holding the light of Jesus Christ within us. The glory of God. Be encouraged and don't let go. Someone's life depends on it. It may even be yours. Think about it. That's another word all together. At any rate, trust God to know that according to 2 Cor. 4:7 this affliction is just for a moment and works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. In due time God will deliver you. He knows what's best and He does all things well. You will come out of it stronger, wiser and better as Pastor Sapp would put it.

Let's pray...

Father we thank you for allowing us to see another day. Though some of us are at hard times in our lives right now we believe it is all for Your glory. We accept the call of being a light in this world for you. Give us the understanding to know why we need to keep going. Give us your grace Lord. Bless and strengthen us your children as we press toward the mark. In Jesus name. Amen.

I STILL Wanna Be Right?

~ Proverbs 12 (Please see below)

Wow...I can't seem to shake last weeks word from my spirit. I shouldn't be so eager to want to anyway. I thought I would be able to move on to something else I believe the Lord wanted me to share but nope. God wants us to be right. He knows how much POWER we can know we have and how much POWER we can walk in if we do. God's word (The Bible) holds the key to what we need to live upright before Him.

Last night He shared with me from Proverbs 12. Today He wants you to know some of the things that he detests so that you will know what is right to Him. That way knowing what is right to Him will help you to do what's right. Below is the chapter of Proverbs 12. Please read and even meditate on it. I did and it gave me the desire TO BE RIGHT. How can I be right? You may ask...After repentance comes reading the word of God. Whether you've been a christian all your life or a new christian, when we live in sin we all need to start at ground zero. Then God will bring us back to our rightful place in Him. BUT, first things first.

To start off, below you will find Proverbs 12. Before reading it say a quick prayer to yourself right now. Ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness and give you enlightenment as you read His word (The Bible). Let His word speak to you.

1WHOEVER LOVES instruction and correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is like a brute beast, stupid and indiscriminating.
2A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of wicked devices He condemns.
3A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall never be moved.
4A virtuous and worthy wife [earnest and strong in character] is a crowning joy to her husband, but she who makes him ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5The thoughts and purposes of the [consistently] righteous are honest and reliable, but the counsels and designs of the wicked are treacherous.
6The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them and the innocent ones [thus endangered].
7The wicked are overthrown and are not, but the house of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall stand.
8A man shall be commended according to his Wisdom [godly Wisdom, which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God], but he who is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9Better is he who is lightly esteemed but works for his own support than he who assumes honor for himself and lacks bread.
10A [consistently] righteous man regards the life of his beast, but even the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits is lacking in sense and is without understanding.
12The wicked desire the booty of evil men, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous yields [richer fruitage].
13The wicked is [dangerously] snared by the transgression of his lips, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall come out of trouble.
14From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hands shall come back to him [as a harvest].
15The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise.
16A fool's wrath is quickly and openly known, but a prudent man ignores an insult.
17He who breathes out truth shows forth righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), but a false witness utters deceit.
18There are those who speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
19Truthful lips shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is [credited] but for a moment.
20Deceit is in the hearts of those who devise evil, but for the counselors of peace there is joy.
21No [actual] evil, misfortune, or calamity shall come upon the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil, misfortune, and calamity.
22Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight.
23A prudent man is reluctant to display his knowledge, but the heart of [self-confident] fools proclaims their folly.
24The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labor.
25Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad.
26The [consistently] righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked causes others to go astray.
27The slothful man does not catch his game or roast it once he kills it, but the diligent man gets precious possessions.
28Life is in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), and in its pathway there is no death but immortality (perpetual, eternal life).

It doesn't stop here. There is plenty where this came from. It's all in your word (The Bible).

Pray with me...

Father in Jesus name, hide your word in our hearts that we might not sin against you. We want to be right. This is the cry of our hearts. Here our prayer oh Lord and attend unto our cry. Help us to make you smile on us more and more each day. Those of us that have things that have bound us free us now by the power of Your son's blood, Jesus Christ. Thank you for making us free. As we walk in this freedom build our confidence in You. In Jesus name. Amen.

I Wanna Be Right...

"And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we'll be ready for him when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives."

~ 1 John 2:28 (The King James Bible)

Being a christian is awesome. Thinking of all the benefits and security we gain when we are christian brings so much peace and comfort. When trouble comes we call on Him. When we feel low, we call on him. I couldn't imagine my life without Christ. I probably would lose my mind. Sometimes I do find it hard to resist temptations but I can honestly say, if I love God enough I won't want to indulge in sin. Though I may fall, indulging in sin will not be a part of my lifestyle. That way I give no room for guilt to set in.

"I wanna be right" is a saying among Christians in the church. It simply means that I want to live according to Gods standards. It's us living to please God. Having a life that is dedicated to being in right standing with God is where your security lies. When we're faced with trouble we can run to Him with no hesitation. It strengthens our faith and it also gives us confidence in our relationship with God. We are not saved by works. When we, individually, do our part and what is required of us, we will be guilt free. We should not allow guilt for falling into sin delay our blessings. We should know that we are secure in our relationship with Him at all times. That can happen by repentance after sinning but having a guilt free spirit will speed up your progress in Him. Living Holy not only sanctifies us but it frees our conscience to go before God boldly and ask all that we need and want without guilt, shame, or wondering if He hears us. It also frees us to recieve from the Lord.

The devil is an expert at making us feel really bad and unlovable when we have done something that is not in line with righteousness. But guess what? It's not only the devil that makes us feel like we're not wanted by God after sinning. We are hard on ourselves as well; even way after we've asked for forgiveness and turned back to God. When we repent and turn from that sin that we fell for, God hears us. The moment we say Lord, forgive me He says...DONE! The bible tells us. It says that He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, if we confess (1John 1:9). It is good to have this understanding but at the same time it is even better to have a lifestyle that is pleasing to the Lord. I can't stress enough about rightful living being the root of confidence that will allow us to recieve quickly from God. Being faithful to God pays off greatly and allows you to be a friend of God with no reserve.

I love the story about King Hezekiah. I won't go into it a whole lot but if you read about King Hezekiah's life (Isaiah 38:2-8), he needed a deliverance so he reminded God of his faithfulness to Him in "living right" and God granted his request. Can you imagine what kind of mental readjusting he would have had to do just to believe he got a prayer through to God if he wasn't in right standing with Him? Understand, what helps us in our faith is "living right". This allows our conscience to be clear to fully accept blessings and answered prayers from the Lord because from doing so we have given the devil and ourselves nothing to work with.

Yes, it's inevitable. We will fall sometimes but let's not let that fall turn into an avalanche. If we do we will feel like there is no hope and our faith will dwindle. Be holy for He is holy. You can do it! We can do it! It may get hard sometimes but it's doable. If it weren't Jesus wouldn't have told us we could do it.

Let's pray...

Lord in Jesus name, Thank you for your son Jesus that took away our sins with His pure blood. We acknowledge this but we need to be in good standing with you so that we can feel secure. Our confidence in our relationship with you is so important. We don't want to feel out of the loop with you. Please strengthen us and make us whole, those of us that have been broken by giving in to sin. We thank you. In Jesus name...Amen.

Take Ownership...

"I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can't produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples."

~ John 15:5-8 (The Message Bible)
*if you can please read all of chapter 15*

Has the Lord ever told you something and you knew for sure that it was Him talking to you but then here comes some foreign voice telling you otherwise? If your answer is yes, take no shame. It's happened to the best of us. One thing I've realized as I am growing in Christ is that I have to take OWNERSHIP of my relationship with the Lord. I have done so and it has liberated me to the point where I am able to move when He says move and stay when He says stay. I'm not saying I don't make mistakes but I now take ownership. I acknowledge that if I mess up, it's not because of God or the influence of others but because I have disobeyed God completely or have moved without hearing from Him. I'm not saying for you not to take advice or take heed to what your family, friends or pastor(s) have to say but honestly when it comes down to it, it's all about your relationship with God and what He says. As much as we love our families, friends and pastor(s) and as much advice, encouragement and opinion they give us, their words are not the end-it-all. We have to take heed to what God says to us individually.

How do I know when it's God? Well that is what a relationship with Him is for so you don't have to wonder. I agree it does take time to learn how to distinguish His voice but be honest, don't all relationships take time? He wants you to learn His voice and hear what He is saying to you. I believe everyone hears the voice of God. It's just that we hear so many voices (influence, reason, doubt...) that we don't know which voice is His. There is no secret to how to learn which is God's voice. You learn His voice by the desire of wanting to hear Him. Desire will lead you to the place you need to be in order to hear Him. That place is on your knees, in worship, in prayer, in reading the bible. By being in this place with loyalty, reverence and faithfulness you will find that you won't need to be literally on your knees to hear from Him. You will know His voice so well that you could be in a middle of a noisy crowd and still hear Him. Even in middle of chaos (life's chaos) and still hear Him. That is so awesome. Doesn't that sound awesome? Not having to doubt because of the confidence you have in really knowing God's voice? You won't have to be confused anymore over whether it's the Lord speaking to you or so and so.

As human beings we don't like rejection. Often times we don't want to let our true feelings for another person out because we are afraid of not being wanted. In this case, don't worry because with Jesus there is no rejection. He has initiated this relationship and He is more ready and willing than you think. I urge you brothers and sisters to take time out and retaliate on this relationship with the Lord and when you do take OWNERSHIP. Don't you want to know Him, His voice, His ways and KNOW it's Him? I know I do...

Now, if you haven't done so already, take OWNERSHIP. Don't let others interfere with what you have with God. He's the only one that knows you better than you know yourself so why not get close to Him and know His voice?

Let's pray...

Father, we stretch our hands toward thee for it's no other help we know. Please help us to know your voice. Whether it's in a still small one or as loud as thunder. Work in us, through us, and in our in betweens. We love you and have faith that you have heard our prayers now help us to have faith to hear your answers. In Jesus name .... Amen.

I Have To Be Faithful

"His master said to him, Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy (the delight, the blessedness) which your master enjoys."

~Matthew 25:23 (The Amplified Version)

Last week I said a lot about time and how pursuing your aspirations is still possible. This is true but something else that is true is that it's going to take faith and faithfulness to reach that mark that you have set for yourself. You see, most people give up on what we call our "New Year's Resolution" or "New Commitment" within the first three months of the year. Well, we don't want to be like most people this year. We want to be exceptional. Not mediocre. FAITHFULNESS is the key. It separates us from mediocrity. It makes us the persistent ones. The ones that won't give up and we all know when one doesn't give up it's inevitable that one will succeed every time. It's true, we do have to push ourselves because of discouragement, fatigue, fear, distractions and so on. But we can't let yourself get off track. If you stay faithful not only to what you are accomplishing but to God, you will reach your goal.

In 2010 there is no time for discouragement (because you are not seeing immediate results) or distractions. We can't let those things dominate or navigate our decision to go for it or not. If we allow such things to take away our focus we will end up in a place that we don't want. Think of the OUTCOME. Push those things aside. Sometimes rhey come through outside influence or even ourselves. Our mission should be to chase those thoughts of discouragement and fear away and continue to do everything it is we need to do to reach our goals.

The best way to chase these thoughts away is to be FAITHFUL. Do it anyway!!! Don't feel like it? Do it anyway! Tired? Do it anyway! Kids got your head all over the place? When you're done putting them to bed, do it anyway! Even if it's a little bit. Put effort toward your goal. Whether it's a little effort or a lot. This is what's called FAITHFULNESS. Though we may feel fickle toward our goals sometimes it is important that we put our fickleness aside because it is misleading, kind of like our emotions. We need to push toward what we know is true and profitable both humanistically and possibly financially; our goal.

Just a sidebar:
Take the story of the investments for example in Matthew 25:14-28. The one servant that was fearful of disappointment and shame hid the one talent that the master had given him. After some time when the master asks him what has the talent profited him, he told the master it profited him nothing because he was too fearful. The master was furious and told him about the least he could have done with the talent. Don't let that be you. God doesn't want you to play it safe. God has given you something, invest it. Even if it's just a little. God will multiply it.

Don't let your vision die. Don't give up on what you started. You started it for a reason. That reason was the OUTCOME of your necessary FAITH and FAITHFULNESS. You probably didn't realized how much commitment or faithfulness it would require in the beginning of your journey but if you can only keep the OUTCOME, the reason why you started it all, in the forefront of your sight you will find what you need to be FAITHFUL. Then the OUTCOME that you saw from the beginning WILL be manifested.

Pray with me...

Lord, help us to be committed to what we started this year. Give us the grace we need to follow through even when we don't feel like it. When we physically get to the outcome that we had aspired, we will look back and thank you for the grace that you provided for us in the times that we thought we wanted to give up. Thank you in advance and be glorified in our life now and forever. In Jesus name...Amen.
